Don’t let a little set back hold you from reaching your fullest potential.

I need something to keep me motivated with my art, photography, writings, html/css codings, and graphics. And I feel like, if I’m going to be paying for something every month.. hell yes I’m going to be keeping it updated.

Still thinking about it though.

To be completely honest, my 18th year didn’t start off exactly how I wanted it to. I thought to myself, today is suppose to be a happy day.. I don’t remember hearing stories about how the first day of their adulthood became nothing but a bitter night full of emotions. But aside from what had happen, I started it off with the person I wanted to.

I didn’t attend school in the morning, skipped two classes. My boyfriend came over to hang out for a few hours. I like seeing him before I head out to school, it’s refreshing and definitely brightens my day. He bought me a  jacket from Hot Topic that I’ve eyed. I like it a lot.

I’ve talked about in previous posts that I don’t have many friends, truth is.. I don’t. But the friends I do have, I’m thankful for everyone of them. They got together and bought me a coffee cake. Realizing what was going to happen, it was too late to react, I got caked pretty good. I walked around campus looking like I just got busted on. But, besides that.. I couldn’t have asked for a better lunch. My cousin bought me a martini cup.

Came home, hung out for a few hours, boyfriend came back over from work. Then my lovely Lisa came over with compay, one of whoms birthday was today also! Yay December 10th babies. She bought me the sweetest card (i still laugh whenever I open it) and a Starbucks gift card — which I’ll be using tomorrow morning, haha.

Went to Wingstop with my boyfriend for the first time. I liked it. Great way of ending the day.

Thank you to those that wished me a happy birthday, and thank you to those that made an effort to see me today as well.

Great start for this upcoming year! I’m thrilled.

They know it sounds rude, and that was probably their intentions.

I told one of my teachers that I’m finally legal now. He asked me what I was going to buy first. I told him, dry ice.

He told me, No. Go buy lottery tickets, now.

I’m not here to tell everyone that I know everything about photography, because I don’t. But what I have noticed for a long time is that most people think that having a SLR/DSLR automatically makes you a photographer, that using a simple point-and-shoot won’t give you the same effect as a professional camera.

I remember talking to some folks who had DSLR, someone mentioned that they used a point-and-shoot, and everyone laughed. I stood there, dumbfounded, because I couldn’t grasp the fact that these “professional photographers” were laughing at another photographer because of what he was equipped with. I didn’t know photography turned into a contest of who had the better camera.

Having a passion for photography isn’t meant for you to purchase the most expensive camera out on the market right now — it’s finding what’s comfortable for you, working with it, and capturing precious moments. And you don’t need a professional camera to do so, a point-and-shoot can work just as well if you let it.

I wish more people appreciated the little things in life, and not take it for granted.
